Founder, Director & Tutor
Sarah Morris
Sarah founded the Sydney Horn Camp in 2023 and is the current director of SHC. She started playing horn almost 20 years ago, and has since toured Europe on two international orchestral tours, studied horn at Graz University in Austria under the guidance of Professor Hector McDonald, and performed professionally with the Shiraz Horn Quartet. Sarah has undergone a decade of tertiary music education, graduating with a Bachelor of Music Performance (Horn) under the guidance of Professor David Thompson, and a Bachelor of Music Studies Honours (1st Class) at the Sydney at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Sarah has been teaching horn privately for over a decade and is currently undertaking a PhD studying wind instrumentalist health and methods for improving brass pedagogy and performance.

Tutor
Tina Brain
Niece of famous horn player Dennis Brain, Ms Brain studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Derek Taylor from the BBC Symphony Orchestra. In 2003, she was awarded the Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. Originally from England, Ms Brain played fourth horn with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra for 11 years before moving to Australia in 2001. Since settling in Sydney, she has played with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and ensembles within Sydney. Ms Brain has been playing the horn and teaching brass instruments for more than 20 years in England, Hong Kong and Australia. She currently teaches horn at schools on Sydney’s North Shore.

Tutor
Robert Johnson​
Robert studied the French horn at the NSW Conservatorium of Music. After holding principal horn positions with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Opera Australia Orchestra, he was appointed Principal Horn with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 1986, and retired in 2017. He has played chamber music with the Australia Ensemble, Sydney Soloists and New Sydney Wind Quintet, and has appeared at the Huntington and Townsville chamber music festivals. As a teacher he has worked as Senior Horn Lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Canberra School of Music, and he has appeared as Artist in Residence at universities and music schools in Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Hong Kong. Since retiring from the SSO he has worked as Guest Principal with Orchestra Victoria, Auckland Philharmonia and Canberra Symphony Orchestras plus performing with Le Basque Trio and the Australian Brass Collective.

Tutor
Michael Wray
Michael completed his Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2004 and Master of Music at the Maastricht Conservatorium (Netherlands) in 2008. Moving to Sydney in 2010 Michael was a busy freelance musician primarily with the Opera Australia Orchestra and major Musical productions in Sydney. He has always been a passionate teacher and educator and now commits to this full time. Michael teaches horn at Ashbury Public School, Fort St High School, Newington College, Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, St Aloysius College, Sydney Grammar School as well as Sydney University Conservatorium of Music.
Contrary to the evidence provided in the picture above Michael has zero Karate skills.

Tutor
Genevieve Campbell
Genevieve holds a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Arts Honours and PhD from the University of Sydney. She has been a professional horn player for over thirty years, playing everything from musical theatre, opera, ballet and symphony to television, film, jazz, marching bands and the touring orchestras for Anthony Warlow, Barbra Streisand, Michael Crawford, Michael Bublé and (her favourite!) Shirley Bassey. Since 2007 Genevieve has also been involved in collaborative performance, recording and research centred on the traditional song culture of the Tiwi Islands, Northern Australia. While continuing to play and teach horn, she is a Research Affiliate and Fellow of the University of Sydney, working with Tiwi song custodians and Elders in documentation and archival preservation of endangered Tiwi song language and ceremonial practice.

Tutor and Supervisor
Lilly Cremer​
Lilly has completed a Bachelor of music performance (horn) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and a master’s in clinical audiology at Macquarie University. Lilly has been playing horn for 20 years and has performed in various orchestras, operas, and musicals in Sydney and Gosford, as well as having performed in an international orchestra tour around the UK. Along with playing and tutoring the horn, Lilly is also an audiologist who works at a medical practice, completing hearing and balance testing. Lilly has an interest in helping others with their hearing health, especially for musicians and music lovers. Lilly has been teaching horn for over a decade and is currently teaching at schools in Sydney in the North Shore area and privately. Lilly is a dedicated horn teacher who loves tutoring and helping her students to learn, grow, and achieve their goals.

Medical Officer and Lead Supervisor
John Morris​
John is a dedicated professional with a rich background in law enforcement (retired) and extensive experience with school-aged children, specifically those with special needs. After retiring from law enforcement, John transitioned to a long-term role with the NSW Department of Education. He brings a wealth of expertise through his bi-annual training in first aid, child protection, code of conduct, e-Emergency care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and specialized areas such as anaphylaxis and the administration of midazolam. John has a profound commitment to working directly with school-aged students with complex health and behavioural needs, fulfilling a high-level supervisory role on a daily basis. His dedication to student welfare and safety is evident in his meticulous approach and ongoing professional development.
